“How to tell the story in your business or business storytelling or as I like to call it story selling you know it's never been more important to tell your story because the more you tell the more you will sell and if you have a business the stronger your story is the stronger your business will become.
So writing the story behind your business story is a critical factor. I mean the truth is it always has been but I think in the times we're living now it's even more critical because there's never been so many businesses doing the same thing there's never been so many companies trying to produce the same thing copycats copy this copy that and copy everything. And so many experts who are doing the same, so many people are speaking the same, will see it online all the time and even on the High Street when we say oh that looks like this and this looks like that, Do you think this is a real thing? do you think this is not the real thing? and so on and so forth.
But the reason the story is so critical in your business is to help you to differentiate your business from all the other businesses. For example in this town here we have probably, I really don't know the number but we have coffee shops everywhere and shops that are not coffee shops they're selling coffee, so they're all trying to do the same thing which is sell coffee but there's no story behind it.
There's only two coffee shops I can think of that have a great story behind their coffee shop one um well maybe I'll maybe I'll talk about that again but apart from that it's the story that makes a difference so why is it so critical that you have a story in your business or you tell your story through story selling story and words in film or in books or on paper or in your copy, this creates fan bases because of the attachment because of the empathy and because of the the high position of the story.
Because the more you Reveal Your Story the more it attaches itself to the reader and they will either be part of your story or they won't be part of your story but what we do know is the more we tell these stories the more people feel they want to be part of our business stories also explain the difference buyers these days want something different they want different they want to know that it's maybe the same product that they've always been loyal to and they want to know why they're buying it and they want you sometimes to justify why you're charging what you're charging.
Your story can do this when it's done well and the stories in things like business books or films which which we've done here can deliver everything from the tragedy which creates the empathy to the triumph which makes them want to be part of you and your company and story in business films create the most powerful of positions I mean you can show your activism you can show your current conversation you can go behind the scenes and show your unsung heroes within your story who is doing what the old guy has been working for your company for the past 54 years who's still cutting cloth in the back room nobody knows about him but he's the guy that detects the Perfection that runs through this company or how the company was built on the back of a grandmother who had an idea she gave it to her children and her children's children her grandchildren and are part of this big interwoven story.
So stories in the business you know when they're told well they will inspire they will motivate they will educate and they will create loyalty within the by public people love the Steve Jobs story they just love it they love to think they talk about Steve or they talk about jobs at the talk about how he did this in his garage with the other guy how we had this idea they wanted to put a thousand songs on this little iPod people love that story no wonder the films were so popular you know you got behind the scenes and you watched the story and to be honest with you the story can reveal the genius and a a story that's been completely uncovered and completely revealed to the public.
Not too long ago I did a story and a film for a company called Altrincham Market here in altering the town where I live and I finally I ended up calling this film the curator and the reason why once we it became a it was a film actually you can see the film on the web page oh I'll put it I'll put a link below for you to watch the film but once I had interviewed Nick on film I realized his story was nothing like the story that people were talking about in the town because the story in the town was rich ex property guy buys the market the traditional market and he's making a killing from all the local people that was actually the story but it was a hugely unfair story because it wasn't true so we told this story we put on a film and had 11 000 views very very quickly people watching this film and finding out the story 11 000 views in a tone of 15 000 people is good so the story was really that this guy had had this idea this whole idea for doing this thing a little bit different in the 90s but he only did it in 2000 and I think it was 2011.
but the problem was he decided to open this Marketplace in a town that was basically dead they had an 80 non-ocumented occupancy in the term there was nothing going on that what was left was just hanging on behind the skin of its teeth and he opened this Marketplace this Marketplace inspired so many businesses inspired so many entrepreneurs that suddenly the empty shop there was filled being empty for 10 years the empty shop here was filled and suddenly every single shop Not only was filled but had a waiting list all because of this story behind what took place in the marketplace so the story you know become an interview it had the angle built in which was all about the the curator the script was then made and then of course we shot the film which is amazing you can watch that in the link down below so really if you want your business to be positioned, more openly more honestly with some intrigue with some compulsion that people feel compelled to come towards your business with more empathy with more love with more care for the environment you know are you a circular business but you don't really talk about it whatever that reason is Finding Your Story having your story pulled out very masterfully and having that story told by a master Storyteller you will end up in a position where you really are story selling on top of your story tell him and that's the reason why you should really consider telling your story because in a world today that has filled full of stories especially post pandemic everything changed whether we accept it or not everything changed people love stories especially stories of Triumph that make them feel good so guys this is Alan if you are ready to tell your story and do more story selling I'm here for you all you have to do is contact me we'll have a conversation and we'll get started on your project whether it be story selling through your copy whether it be story selling through a book by the way a book is an amazing way to position yourself or the ultimate way to position yourself story is selling through your film storytelling will result in you selling more by telling more through your story I'm here I'm ready to help you you know how to contact me my details are down below and if you want to leave a comment below feel free to do that and of course don't forget to subscribe to this Channel on YouTube uh and there'll be more videos like this coming up in the future“
