2023 & YOUR SUCCESS
I have never had a successful year by accident.
Yes, some things are accidental but my years are mostly set in motion by my actions.

How To Make 2023 Your Year of Change.
Let’s be truthful here, none of us knows everything. If you don’t know certain things you think you need to know then you have to ask for help or find out what to do. That’s what a mentor or advisor gives you.
When I make a decision like that I always look back on my previous year and ask myself, ‘did I hit the intention and goal I wanted to hit?
This takes some serious honesty.
If did not hit it I ask another question which is, ‘what do I need to do to make that happen? Of course, there is yet another question I ask myself and that is, “Was the intention I set in harmony with my needs or the natural state of my business?”
If I fail to hit my targets most of the time I found that I really just didn’t know what I needed to know to make the big breakthrough. As you will have read my new skills as a director and filmmaker filmmaking are still pressing ahead. More than a few times I have felt a little out of my depth and uncomfortable in this new industry. I ask myself why and realise that for many reasons it is because I just don't know the answer.
One day I just didn’t know something I need to know. I called a man that I thought might know. His fee was £1,000 for the phone call. Or let’s put it this way, £1,000 for the answer I needed. He gave me the answer in minutes and frankly it was worth every penny of the £1,000.
So to have a successful year - 2023 - you need to ask yourself some very basic and direct questions. This is what I do every year.
Do I know what I need to know to make 2023 more successful?
How do I find out what I need to know?
Is the information I am getting from a trusted reliable source?
Will this information really get me where I want to go in 2023?
And the big question …
Are all of my previous year’s results looking like they will be the same as the years passed?
Unless you ask those questions and look for answers that are tried and tested everything will be the same for you. Results do not come easy. It is like digging for gold. You have to dig to reveal the answers.
Let me share a few examples with you.
When I had my first high-street business I was very good air what I was doing - haircutting. Clients would even fly in from abroad to have their hair cut by me. Yet, my salons were failing. I spent the first two years as being a greatly sought-after salon owner with a business that was failing.
Those same businesses after two years became the No.1 salons in the towns we were in. We literally rose from the ashes. How? I finally realised what I was doing wasn’t working. I found a company that knew what I need to know. I spoke with them. I eventually paid to become a client of theirs. My fortunes then changed dramatically.
Of course, I had to pay a fee. I didn’t have the cash (thank you VISA) and that first week back after learning from them I actually tripled my salon fees. Hard to believe you can triple a fee yet I was also told I would lose no clients. I trusted them and guess what - Incredibly I lost no clients apart from mad Mrs Jones - and she was nuts!
The same goes for the world of copywriting. First, my own ads failed so I asked the questions to myself. I paid for advice and my ads eventually started to work. I eventually became an a-list copywriter.
Is the information or help or advice you have been getting actually pushing you forward to a different year with very different results? Be honest with yourself. If it isn’t it means you have to get advice that works. How do you know if it works?
Recently a client of mine with a very successful business since 2015 came to me and asked for advice about sending emails. This was interesting because he knew there was money in his emails yet he rarely emailed. The client hired my services - after paying many for advice in the past - and two days later I had an email from him after his first email to his list.
Bear in mind he had ZERO sales from his emails for these reasons. His message was terrible and not designed to sell. His strategy was no strategy. He was hoping to simply scoop up some sales from the odd email here and there.
After doing exactly what I shared with him his sales came in at just under £10,000 from that first email. Even more interesting is to remember he had been playing around with email since 2015. You can only imagine the sales that he had left under the table.
To make changes takes real change. Sometimes you have to be brave with that change. Sometimes you have to trust yourself based on a feeling that you are being guided the right way.
To create a very different 2023 you have to trust yourself that you are making a decision that is right for you. You have to support that with a powerful intention that what you want to happen is possible. But you cannot have blind faith or sit around moaning about a lack of results for yourself.
There is a saying that action speaks louder than words. I know from my own business adventures since 1985 that this is true.
So you need to honestly ask yourself what are you doing differently in 2023.
Are you doing the same old thing and just hoping things will change? Hope will not change a thing you have to take the next step.
